As Shanghai Port, the world's busiest port by volume and second largest in terms of container throughput, continues to grow and evolve, one person stands out as a key player in its success: Oscar.

Oscar is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shanghai Port Group Co., Ltd., which operates the port and plays a critical role in facilitating trade and commerce across China and beyond.

Since joining the company in 2015, Oscar has overseen significant growth and expansion at Shanghai Port, including the opening of new terminals and the expansion of existing ones. Under his leadership, the port has seen record-breaking volumes of cargo, with more than 84 million TEUs handled in 2020 alone, up from just over 69 million in 2015.

One of Oscar's most notable achievements was the completion of the Yangtze River Tunnel project, which was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. This not only allowed for increased capacity on the river but also helped to reduce congestion and improve safety for ships navigating through the region.

In addition to his work at Shanghai Port, Oscar has also been involved in efforts to promote sustainable shipping practices and reduce carbon emissions. He has advocated for the use of cleaner fuels and has worked to encourage greater use of renewable energy sources.

Despite facing challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical tensions, Oscar has remained committed to driving forward the port's mission to achieve milestones in cargo handling. His vision for Shanghai Port is to become a global hub for logistics and trade, connecting China with the rest of the world.

With his leadership and dedication to innovation and sustainability, Oscar is poised to continue shaping the future of Shanghai Port and beyond.
